	The ideal synthetic absorbable suture known for its predictable absorption and high tensile strength is a perfect and superior substitute for catgut.
	Characteristics and Benefits:
	Tensile Strength: The tensile strength of RELYON PGA is 40% more than that of catgut and surpasses the USP standards substantially- 75% of the Tensile Strength is retained at the end of the second week after implantation, 50% in the third week. Thus RELYON PGA provides adequate tissue support during the critical cicatrisation period and helps safe closure of the tissue till cicatrisation is complete.   Absorption: RELYON PGA does not have collagen proteins, pyrogenous agents and its absorption is through hydrolysis, thus providing MINIMAL TISSUE REACTION. Absorption takes place through “progressive hydrolytic action” complete in 50-70 days.   Handling: The coating material of Polycaprolactone and Calcium Stearate extends excellent comfort while handling (smooth passage through tissue) and enhances firm and safe knotting   Indications/Applications: It is indicated in all surgical procedures that absorbable sutures are recommended. These include Obstetrics & Gynaecological Surgery, Ophthalmic Surgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery and General Closure. Sizes 2 to 6-0 with various needle combinations are available.
